New Publication on Oncolytic Virotherapy Released

In the latest issue of Glasnik HKLD-a (Vol. XXXV, No. 3, 2025) features a review article by Dr. Beata Halassy titled "Oncolytic virotherapy: Harnessing viruses for cancer treatment"

The publication provides a comprehensive overview of the development of oncolytic virotherapy—an innovative approach to treating malignant diseases using viruses that selectively destroy tumor cells and stimulate antitumor immune responses. The author also discusses ethical considerations related to self-experimentation and highlights the potential of domestic virological resources, including the Croatian Edmonston Zagreb measles virus strain, for further development of oncolytic therapies.

The article outlines key challenges in translating oncolytic virotherapy into clinical practice, as well as encouraging prospects for its future application in cancer treatment.
