Virotherapy of animal tumors
Development of oncolytic virotherapy for the treatment of cancer in animals
The goal of this project is to address the limitations of current tumor treatments in domestic animals by developing innovative oncolytic virotherapy.
The primary beneficiaries of the project are the academic and business research communities, while pet owners and veterinary institutions will also benefit indirectly. The University of Zagreb and Genera d.d. are collaborating on research and development activities to establish a foundation for applying the results in veterinary medicine, with potential implications for human medicine as well.
The research at the University of Zagreb is being conducted by the team at the Center for Research and Knowledge Transfer in Biotechnology.
The total value of the project (NPOO.C3.2.R3-I1.04.0124) is EUR 1,286,597.89, of which EUR 1,139,264.41 is funded through European Union Recovery and Resilience Mechanism grants.
